Fishing: Pickwick Lake and The Tennessee River- Savannah, TN is known as the "Catfish Capital of the World" because of the large size catfish caught in the river. An annual festival, The National Catfish Derby, is held each summer. Pickwick Lake is known for the small and large mouth bass. Legendary fisherman, Bill Dance,(from Hardin County), said, "Our country is blessed with some great smallmouth fisheries, but year in and year out, none has been more consistently dependable than my favorite--Pickwick Lake." Hardin County also has many marinas: Pickwick Landing State Resort Park Marina, Grand Harbor, Saltillo Marina, and Aqua Yacht Harbor.
Golfing: Shiloh Falls Golf Club, Shiloh Golf Course, Pickwick Landing State Park Golf, Fox Chase Golf Course, and Savannah Golf Course.
Music: Country Music Singer Darryl Worley, Hardin County Veteran, holds the annual Tennessee River Run in September. The event includes fishing tournaments, 5k run, motorcycle poker run, golf tournament, Boat poker run, arts & crafts vendors, and CONCERT (featuring Darryl Worley and others). This event benefits the Darryl Worley foundation. The Sunset Symphony has an annual concert, on the lawn of historic Cherry Mansion in Savannah.
Sports: Hank Deberry & Chad Harville, Major League Baseball Players, are from Hardin County. The NAIA Championship Football game is held in Hardin County-Savannah, annually. This game is held at our on Hardin County High School, Jim Carrol Stadium.
